Wait! Come back! I promise you, this smoothie is delightful. Even with the spinach. This is my absolute favorite smoothie recipe in the whole, wide world. What I like most about it, is that I don’t feel guilty after I drink one of these. 🙂
I used almond milk in this recipe, which in my opinion, is way better for you than regular milk. It’s packed with all sorts of vitamins and minerals, is low-cal, and low-fat. It’s also lactose free (if you don’t add the Greek yogurt), for those of you, like myself, who can’t have much dairy. I also use fresh spinach, which is high in fiber, antioxidants, and is loaded with vitamins. The fresh spinach, surprisingly, is very mild in flavor, so you can’t really taste it in the smoothie.
There are so many different variations to making this smoothie, so it’s totally up to you, what you choose to put in your blend. I’ll share with you what I like to put in mine.
Creamy Banana, Blueberry, and Spinach Smoothie
- 1 whole banana
- 1 cup of almond milk (more or less depending on how thick/thin you like it)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 tablespoon fat free Greek yogurt
- 3/4 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 handfuls fresh spinach
Blend all the ingredients together in a blender. That’s it!
